Rancilio Silvia Expansion/Over-Pressure Valve (OPV) – Complete Assembly

Complete new-version Rancilio Silvia expansion/OPV valve assembly, factory-adjustable up to 10 bar. This is the full valve body with internal spring, gaskets, and o-ring, everything except the compression fitting and nut, which are typically reused from your original valve.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Adjustable up to 10 bar
  • 9 mm O.D. barb outlet with 1/8" F and 1/4" F thread fittings
  • Includes two copper gaskets (see standalone R_1022 gaskets)

COMPATIBILITY

  • Fits: Rancilio Silvia, new/post-2008 version with flexible stainless boiler hose, and older compression-fitting versions using your reused fitting or a new compression fitting
  • Works with: recommended outlet hose R_1332

This assembly includes the spring (R_203), valve gasket and gasket holder (R_1023), brass valve body, O-ring, expansion valve nut, and two copper gaskets (R_1022). Not all components are sold separately.

INSTALLATION

Moderate DIY job; Espresso Parts has published a full pressure-adjustment procedure for setting your dispensing pressure once installed.

PRO TIPS

  • Newer (post-2008) Silvias use a flexible stainless hose that threads directly into the valve, don't force a compression fitting onto it; check which style boiler connection you have before assuming you need the compression nut.
  • If shots run fast and thin at a normal grind/dose, or your pressure gauge won't hold steady, a worn OPV spring or gasket, not the pump, is often the real cause; this complete assembly resets that variable in one shot.
